Lovers of nature, get excited!

There is a full day of activities taking place at Botanical Bazaar, supported by Tropical Fruit World. The event showcases everything green from urban organic gardening, to sustainable living and botanical ‘must-haves’. We aim to take you on an educational journey of gardening, sustainability & home decor.

With an array of themed areas, there is something to suit all levels and ages of gardening interest.

Educational Talks

There are inspiring presentations by various gardening experts such as Costa Georgiadis and Phil Dudman from ABC Gardening Australia, experienced horticulturalist & permaculturalist Claire Bickle, Co-Inventor of the revolutionary FlowHive* Stuart Anderson and many more. Learn about such topics as organic gardening, european and native bees, how to create a wildlife haven, composting, worm farming, edible flowers.

 Workshops

Workshops will be conducted by sustainably focused business Green Living Australia and award winning botanical artist Julia Rose. Green Living Australia workshops are hosted by Valerie Pearson and are included in the entry price to the event (based on first in basis) Workshops conducted by Julia Rose incure a fee.  Plant Market

Discover are variety of beautiful plants, seedlings, organic heritage seeds, fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables. The large selection of plants includes, but is not limited to frangipanis, geraniums, bromeliads, airplants, natives, succulents, rainforest, staghorns and herbs. Plus orchids, tropical plants, fruit trees and even the beautiful vireya rhododendrons. The list goes on and on! TIP: Bring a car with a big empty boot to fit all your purchases!

Mr Fothergill’s Kids Hub, hosted by Natura Education

Kids will be entertained with plenty of nature based creative activities at the ‘Mr Fothergill’s Kids Hub’, hosted by Natura Education. They can make their own nature crafts, walk inside a butterfly enclousure, learn about recycling and composting. To inspire and motivate the children, the Kids Hub will also get a personal visit from King of the Compost ‘Costa’ from ABC Gardening Australia. PLUS kids will receive a FREE take home from Mr Fothergill’s Seeds and Bulbs.

Critters Corner

View live snake education presentations and teach your kids or grandkids about snake saftey. Get up close to inspect Native and European (including FlowHive*) Bees or listen to one of the Bee presentations. Chat with Bird-Life Australia and learn how to attract more birds to your backyard. Plus if you want to know more about worms, butterflies or chickens, we have them all covered!

Botanical Must Haves & Homewares

If you enjoy getting active in the garden there are gardening products and tools to meet your needs. Maybe you want your house and lifetyle to feel like a Jungalow? If so there will be botanical homewares, beauty, health and decor items. There are original works of art; including botanical images, outdoor garden sculptures, mixed media and floral design by award winning botanical artist Julia Rose.

Community Groups

Local gardening groups passionate about their individual areas of interest will be onsite to answer any of your gardening questions. This includes, but is not limited to The Gold Coast Rose Society, Gold Coast City Council Weed Control & Identification, Aquaponics, Wicking Beds and Hydroponics specialists. The Nerang Community Gardens will also open their gates for public viewing, teachings and interaction.

Food & Entertainment

We have all your drinks, snacks and lunch covered. If you are looking to enjoy a relaxing tea of coffee or maybe a wine, there will be a variety of food and drink offering. Enjoy the delicious delights under the big fig tree in a grassy parkland and kick back to the live music. The perfect way to relax with the family on Fathers Day.
